Corvallis, Ore. – Jun 24, 2024 – 2 Towns Ciderhouse made a strong showing at the 11th Annual Northwest Cider Cup in Portland, Oregon, earning the Large Cidery of the Year award and six medals, with their 2020 Pommeau and Cellar Series Plum Cherry & Amburana taking gold.

The 11th Annual Northwest Cider Cup recognizes the talent and craftsmanship of cidermakers in one of the world’s most esteemed cider-producing regions. Open to entries from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and British Columbia, this year’s competition was evaluated by an esteemed panel of 11 certified pommeliers, 12 certified cider guides, 21 cider makers, and 10 industry influencers, buyers, and press. Medals were granted only to entries that surpassed a stringent set of standards. The Cup grants only one gold per category and does not require judges to issue all available medals. Out of all entries, only 21% were awarded medals, underscoring the selective and competitive nature of this competition.

This marks the 2nd year in a row when 2 Towns Ciderhouse is honored as the Large Cidery of the Year.

Dave Takush, head cidermaker and co-owner 2 Towns Ciderhouse, expressed his joy, saying, “It’s truly gratifying to come together with our PNW community to celebrate our craft and honor fellow cideries. We are fortunate to have access to an abundance of high-caliber fruit in our region, which elevates our craft significantly. The camaraderie among Pacific Northwest cideries is exceptional, and these moments of celebration hold deep meaning for all of us.”

Co-founder and CEO of 2 Towns Ciderhouse, Lee Larsen adds, “We are thrilled to be recognized as Large Cidery of the Year for a 2nd year in a row and do not take this honor lightly. We are humbled by this recognition and remain committed to pursuing excellence not only in our cider craftsmanship but also in our contributions to the industry. I am deeply grateful to our team, whose exceptional work every day makes this possible. This honor belongs to all of us.”
