  • 3 TBS Flour
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 2/3 Cup “Brightcider” Hard Cider
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire
  • 1 TBS Grainy Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Cracked Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 Cup Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Cup Gouda Cheese

For the Burger:

  • 2 lbs Ground Beef
  • 2 TBS Wrochestershire
  • Yellow Mustard
  • 1/2 Cup diced White Onion
  • Fresh Cracked Pepper & Sea Salt (to preference)
  • 4 Pretzel Hamburger buns

Burger Toppings:

  • Grainy Dijon Mustard
  • Freshly Cut Chives
  • Arugula
  • Sauerkraut (optional)

Instructions:

Startup the Green Mountain Grills pellet grill and set the temperature to 450 degrees. As it comes to temperature, prepare your Brightcider cheese sauce.

In a saucepan, melt the butter and whisk in flour. Add the milk slowly, incorporating it as you pour. Make sure to whisk constantly as you add milk. Simmer together for 2 minutes while constantly stirring to create a smooth and even consistency.

Next, add the cider slowly while stirring. Then bring in the Worcestershire, dijon mustard, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Simultaneously whisk while adding all these ingredients and add the cheese when everything is evenly mixed. Set aside.

In a mixing bowl combine the ground beef, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and onion. Create 4 evenly sized patties. Brush and oil the grill grates, then place the patties onto the grill.

As the first side cooks, brush yellow mustard onto the formed patties to add a tangy layer of flavor. Cook the burgers for approximately 6 minutes per side, adding the pretzel buns onto the grill for the last 3-4 minutes.

Remove the burgers and buns from the grill, and assemble. Spread a slight bit of the grainy dijon onto the bun, a bed of arugula, patty, a generous helping of the cheese sauce, chives, and a scoop of sauerkraut if you’re looking for a bit of pucker to your bite.

Enjoy!
