The Baddie™

The Baddie

The Baddie™ cider is the result of an all-women-led initiative, formed by women across 2 Towns Ciderhouse, and the Pink Lady® apple brand. The Baddie™ cider celebrates the courage, strength, and grit of all women – empowering them to discover new and unique adventures, push boundaries, and challenge the status quo.

Drink to The Future

A portion of the proceeds of The Baddie™ will be donated to the Pink Boots Society, a national non-profit organization that supports women and non-binary individuals in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry to advance their careers through education.

C.I.D.E.R.

The Baddie™ is an initiative of the 2 Towns’ C.I.D.E.R. team (Committee on Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Representation). The goal of C.I.D.E.R. is to amplify the company’s commitment to equity and diversity. We believe that “The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people” and we strive to reflect that mantra in our company’s practices and culture.

The Story Behind The Baddie

What started as a quiet mention at an all-staff gathering, quickly turned into a company-wide initiative as an all-women-led team set out to develop a cider developed from 100% Pink Lady® apples that embrace the spirit of empowerment.

The Name

When brainstorming the cider product name, the team’s vision was to add a layer of strength, courage, toughness and, quite frankly, badass-ness, to the existing 25-year-old Pink Lady® brand. The idea was to bring a traditional, long-established, and celebrated brand into the next generation. Thus, The Baddie™ was born.

The Liquid

In order to make the cider pink and live up to its name, the R&D team added hibiscus among other floral botanicals that created an elevated cider with flair, depth, and sophistication.

The Artwork

Our graphic designer turned to historical events, heroic women, and current-day trends to collect inspiration. With a nod to Rosie the Riveter, you will see our Baddie sporting the quintessential jumpsuit and polka dot headband, but with a Pink Lady® brand stamp on the back. The floral ingredients of the cider decorate the tattoos up her arm while carrying the 2 Towns keg shows her strength in both stature and symbolism.

The Team

Kudos to the entire Baddie team for the strength to suggest, advocate, champion, and bring this cider–the first of its kind–to fruition. While there is a “core” Baddie team, we wholeheartedly recognize that the ability to carry out this initiative was supported and touched by many across both companies, and we thank them all for their instrumental contributions to its success.

Cheers to all the Baddies out there!
