Tart & Floral, Cherried Away will sweep you off your feet. With lofty notes of spring, this cider is bursting with vitality and a vibrant red hue from a blend of Northwest apples and whole sour cherries, finished with hibiscus blossoms.
Cherried Away is made with whole hibiscus flowers and Montmorency cherries, an old variety of tart pie cherry originally grown quite extensively in Europe.
The Montmorency cherry has classic pie cherry character and a wonderful bright red color. While Montmorency cherries are widely grown in France, Canada, and Michigan. We source ours from Central Washington, right here in the Pacific Northwest.
Our cider makers throw whole hibiscus blossoms into the fermentation tanks to add a significant amount of color, floral aroma, and their own unique acidity. The Montmorency cherries are whole pressed and blended into the fermentation tanks near the end of fermentation, helping to retain that fresh picked from the tree aroma and taste. The resulting taste is so delicious, you might just get a little “Cherried Away.”
